Hydrostatic Tank Gauging (HTG) is one of the oldest techniques used to measure the product height and is common in the process industry. The measuring principle of HTG is based on measuring the hydrostatic head pressure with one, two or three transmitters, depending on the accuracy required. A device, such as the 4590 TSM or 4200 MFT, is often used at the tank side to integrate all pressure devices in the system.

Hybrid measurement is the application of a combination of level measurement and hydrostatic tank gauging. The combination of different techniques provides a temperature independent mass measurement and it is possible to accurately and directly measure level and density. A device, such as the 4590 TSM or 4200 MFT, is often used at the tank side to integrate all devices in the hybrid system.

Single systems, such as servo, radar or HTG systems, can, in most cases, be expanded to a hybrid measuring system.
