Accurately Measure Your Inventory

Each gauge uses either K (26 GHz) or C (6 GHz) band microwaves to measure liquids to an accuracy of ±2 mm (0.08") or ± 6 mm (0.24"). Changing process conditions inside your tank, such as temperature changes, gas blankets, pressures or vapors, have negligible effect on radar measurement.

Antenna for Your Applications

Our applications engineers can help you select the most appropriate gauge and antenna combination based on the accuracy you require, tank height, liquid temperature and tank pressure.

1½", 3", or 4" (40 mm, 80 mm or 100 mm) PVDF or PP horn antennas output a K-Band, 26 GHz signal to provide an accuracy of ± 2 mm (0.08") in tanks up to 98 ft (30 m). Optional enhanced dynamics can provide a measurement to 131 ft (40 m). Process temperature rated to -40 °F (-40 °C), or up to 266 °F (130 °C) with a high-temperature rated antenna. Suitable for pressures from -14.5 psi (-1 bar) up to 43.5 PSI (3 bar) depending upon process connection and sealing material.

Optimum price vs performance for liquid process applications

1½" to 4" (40-100 mm) small horn antenna outputs K-Band, 26 GHz signal to provide an accuracy of ± 2 mm (0.08") in tanks up to 131 ft (40 m). Optional enhanced dynamics can provide a measurement to 230 ft (70 m). Process temperature rated from -321 °F (-196 °C), up to 842 °F (450 °C) with high-temperature antenna. Suitable for pressures up to 2320 psi (160 bar) depending upon process connection and sealing material.

All-around performance for free space measurement

A PTFE-filled and flush-mounted 2" or 3" (50 mm and 80 mm) horn antenna outputs K-Band, 26 GHz signal to provide an accuracy of ± 2 mm (0.08") in tanks up to 125 ft (38 m). Optional enhanced dynamics can provide a measurement to 197 ft (60 m). Process temperature rated from -40 to +200 °C (-40 to +392 °F). Suitable for pressures from -1 to +16 bar (-14.5 to +232 psi) depending upon process connection and sealing material.

Chemical resistant with flush mounting for aggressive media

15.4" to 21.3" (390-540 mm) rod antenna outputs a C-Band, 6 GHz signal to provide an accuracy of ± 6 mm (0.24") in tanks up to 66 ft (20 m) tall. Process temperature rated from -40°F up to +302 °F (-40 to +150 °C). Suitable for pressures from vacuum to 580 psi (40 bar).

6" to 12" (150 to 300 mm) planar antenna outputs a C-Band, 6 GHz signal to provide an accuracy of ± 6 mm (0.24") in tank stilling wells up to 125 ft (38 m). Process temperature rated from -321 °F (-196 °C), up to 752 °F (400 °C) with high-temperature antenna. Suitable for pressures up to 2320 PSI (160 bar) depending upon process connection and sealing material.

Tank Installation

Simple Device-to-Device Configuration

When setting up your system, the HistoROM module can be used to quickly transfer configuration settings from one gauge to the next. It can also be used to access historic data from device integrated memory.

Touch Screen Operations

Easy onsite operation using built-in touch control display without having to open the enclosure. A remote display is also available so that you can read and operate the gauge from the tank side.

Low Cost Wiring

Intrinsically safe 2-wire technology reduces on-tank wiring costs and allows easy implementation into existing systems.

Each radar gauge is approved for use in explosion hazardous areas to ATEX, FM, CSA, TIIS and IECEx standards. They are also SIL 2 and SIL 3 rated for overfill prevention.

Higher Accuracy for Weights & Measures Applications

Varec offers the 7500 series of Radar Tank Gauges for applications that demand ±1 mm accuracy or better, such as when measuring liquids for custody transfer or Weights & Measures.
